Visit to Tewkesbury Abbey

Our Majors children visited Tewkesbury Abbey this week. Mrs Walker gave them her personal guided tour of the Abbey - she was a mine of information! We started with the outside of the Abbey, feeling the stones, listening to the bells and seeing the little doors used by the monks.

Then we went inside and looked at the stained glass windows, the beautiful ceiling, the stone pillars and the dungeons.

We were hoping that a man would be able to play the organ for us, but unfortunately he wasn't able to make it. However, we were lucky that a lovely lady from the Abbey coffee shop offered to play the piano instead. The children sang beautifully to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", and listened to the sound of their voices echoing around the Abbey.

The children behaved wonderfully, listened really well and thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Pancake Day

Our Majors and Minors children had a great time making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.

First, they mixed the ingredients...

Then, they cooked and flipped their pancakes...

And lastly, they enjoyed eating them with lots of delicious toppings!

World Book Day

On Thursday 6th March, we celebrated World Book Day with a fun morning and afternoon session for the children. The staff and children all dressed up as their favourite book characters, and took part in lots of fun book-related activities, including making gingerbread men out of card, acting out the gingerbread man story and eating gingerbread men at snack time. We also had a book raffle for the children where they all won a prize. The children really enjoyed themselves and lots of fun was had by all. Thank you to all our parents for providing their children with such fantastic costumes - they all looked wonderful!
